Going by the amount of traffic I still get on my last year’s surge post, I thought its wise and fair that I should post about this one as well.
The application for the Surge 2009 has started.

SURGE at IIT Kanpur
Undergraduate research at IIT Kanpur presents opportunities for students to do research under the mentorship of senior researchers at the frontiers of engineering and science. Undergraduate research fosters collegiality and welcomes students into the community of researchers and scholars. It promotes self-discovery, helps to bridge the gap between class-room and real world, and leads to social, professional and educational development of the student.
Now some comments on my favorite topic. The webserver that they use. Its a windows based machine and uses xampp. Here is the phpinfo() for the server. The resourceful of you can go around exploring further pages on the site

if we click on the link on SURGE page for NIT students it does not lead anywhere. So how can we know about the last date to app for SURGE & criteria of selection?

can u please let me know whether SURGE program permits M-Tech students form NIT for doing their summer internship at iitk.
If not then is their any other program for M-Tech students?

Sorry but SURGE is only for under-graduates. You may please contact IIT Kanpur directly to find out if they have any similar program for PG. Please let me know if you get any information.
